Cellcom seeks access to Bezeq installations
A few days after Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) and Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) agreed on what the new wholesale market will look like and submitted a service portfolio to the Ministry of Communications, Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL) has made an initiative of its own, and is submitting a service portfolio for using Bezeq infrastructures through its communications conduits. Cellcom also submitted another portfolio for dark fiber (fiber which Bezeq installs in communications conduits, part of capacity of which can be allotted to competitors).
Bezeq to market triple play with YES
Sources inform ”Globes” that Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) and its satellite broadcasting subsidiary DBS Satellite Services (1998) Ltd.(YES) will begin to jointly market triple play services in a few days. The companies will offer telephony, Internet access, and television services. There will be no general discount for all the services; each service can be purchased separately at the same price, with the customer paying a single bill through YES.
Bezeq to deploy multibillion shekel fiber optic network
Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) will invest billions of shekels in a fiber optic network, the company’s board of directors decided today. The project, one of the most ambitious in Israel’s telecommunications industry, will replace the company’s copper wire network over 5-8 years. The investment will be approved in stages, depending on the ability to deploy the network and demand.
Bezeq and Partner agree on wholesale market
There has been a significant development in the telecommunications market following what appears to be an agreement in principle between Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) and Orange franchisee Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) on the structure of the new wholesale market. Sources inform ”Globes” that the companies achieved a breakthrough last week in their negotiations on the service structure, which will probably use the bit-stream access model.
Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) today announced that more than 10,000 subscribers have joined its public Wi-Fi service, Bezeq Free WiFi, in the ten days since its launch. The service is Israel’s first public wireless Internet service.

Bezeq CEO: IEC fiber optics won’t happen

The company reported lower revenue and profit for the second quarter of 2012 as growth in landline and international calls services failed to offset the drop in income from the sale of mobile phones and services.
Bezeq’s consolidated revenue fell 10.3% to NIS 2.6 billion for the second quarter from NIS 2.89 billion for the corresponding quarter of 2011. Net profit attributable to majority shareholders fell 29.1% to NIS 415 million (NIS 0.15 per share) for the second quarter from NIS 585 million for the corresponding quarter.
Harel Finance downgrades Bezeq
arel Finance Ltd. today jumped on the bandwagon of cutting the target price for Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ), because of weak results, two days before the company publishes its financial report for the second quarter. Harel Finance analyst Rami Rosen expects Bezeq to report a net profit of NIS 423 million on NIS 2.54 billion revenue for the quarter. It expects mobile subsidiary Pelephone Communications Ltd. to show a further erosion in profitability and weak results by DBS Satellite Services (1998) Ltd. (YES).
