Bezeq to market triple play with YES
The companies will offer telephony, Internet access, and television services.
Sources inform ”Globes” that Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) and its satellite broadcasting subsidiary DBS Satellite Services (1998) Ltd.(YES) will begin to jointly market triple play services in a few days. The companies will offer telephony, Internet access, and television services. There will be no general discount for all the services; each service can be purchased separately at the same price, with the customer paying a single bill through YES.
YES’s triple play package, like the telephony-mobile packages that Bezeq sells with its mobile subsidiary Pelephone Communications Ltd., is Bezeq’s response to the plans offered by its competitors, which offer discounts that Bezeq is banned from offering.
Bezeq is offering the new triple play package in response to the increasing competition in the mobile market. The market has changed with the switch to integrated service plans offered by mobile carriers Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) and Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL). The triple play package offered by HOT Telecommunication Systems Ltd. (TASE: HOT) is the strongest tool now in the telecommunications market, and Bezeq is banned from responding by the regulator, causing the company to lose subscribers at an increasing pace.
