Netanyahu to inaugurate fiber optic venture September 3
The inauguration of the ViaEuropa AB-Israel Electric Corp venture will be in Beersheva.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will inaugurate the ViaEuropa AB-Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) (TASE: ELEC.B22) fiber optic venture in Beersheva on September 3.
Minister of Communications Gilad Erdan is due to grant the venture an operating license in late August to keep the ministry’s promise to grant the license within weeks of the deposit by ViaEuropa, after it won the tender. The venture will provide fiber-to-the-home for high-speed Internet. The fiber optic cables are gradually replacing copper and coaxial wires worldwide.
Beersheva is the first city where the venture is deploying its fiber optic infrastructure.
