Bezeq board approves Handler appointment

Stella Handler will succeed CEO Avi Gabbay, who announced his resignation two months ago.

7 March 13 10:00, Globes’ correspondent
Yesterday, the Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd’s (TASE: BEZQ) board of directors appointed Stella Handler as CEO. She will succeed Avi Gabbay, who announced his resignation two months ago. She will take up the post during April, after an orderly handover period with Gabbay.

Handler has held a number of top positions in Israel’s telecommunications industry, including CEO of 012 Smile Telecom Ltd., and chairwoman of Hot Telecommunication Systems Ltd. (TASE: HOT.B1).

Bezeq chairman Shaul Elovitch said, “Stella is one of the most experienced and highly esteemed managers in the Israeli economy in general and in the telecommunications market in particular. I am convinced that Stella will lead Bezeq to further success and achievements, and strengthen its position as Israel’s best and leading telecommunications company. I wish to thank Bezeq’s outgoing CEO, Avi Gabbay, for his skilled and dedicated service to Bezeq for the past 15 years, including as CEO of Bezeq for the past six years. I wish him great success in his career.”
