Hot and Golan: Carriers delaying our int’l calls services

The Ministry of Communications has summoned the international calls carriers for a hearing next week, after new mobile carriers Golan Telecom Ltd. and HOT Mobile Ltd. filed complaints that the international calls carriers were delaying making their services available.
Both Hot Mobile and Golan Telecom have international calls licenses, but no operating permits, forcing them to direct calls from their subscribers to other international calls carriers, until the permits are granted. However, both mobile carriers are complaining that the international calls carriers will not open their services to Hot Mobile and Golan Telecom’s prefixes (017 and 016, respectively).
The Ministry of Communications forced Golan Telecom to stop offering international calls, because the carrier lacked an operating license, and the ministry launched an audit of the carrier. Golan Telecom was forced to divert its international calls traffic through Bezeq International Ltd. via the latter’s 014 prefix.
Sources inform ”Globes” that HOT Mobile has asked the Ministry of Communications for a temporary operating permit, because of delays by international calls carriers, but the ministry has demurred for now, although it agreed to HOT Mobile’s request to order the international calls carriers to expeditiously connect their prefixes.
