Golan Telecom claims 100,000 subscribers

Communications Ministry figures show 50,000 mobile subscribers have switched to the new carrier.

Golan Telecom Ltd. today announced that 100,000 subscribers have joined it, ten weeks after the new mobile carrier’s launch.

In fact, the number of customers who have switched to Golan Telecom is 50,000, according to updated Ministry of Communications figures. The other customers are believed to be subscribers who have taken another mobile number, and tourists.

Golan Telecom offers a NIS 99 per month unlimited calls and SMS package with calls to 31 foreign countries. It also offers a NIS 9.99 per month package of 60 minutes of airtime and 60 SMS a month for light users.

Golan Telecom says that half of its 100,000 subscribers chose the NIS 99 monthly package.

The carrier added, “Waiting time for Golan Telecom’s call center (*0058) has been greatly shortened, and the latest checks of waiting time at the company’s various call centers found that it is just three minutes.”
