Wake-Up Call for Pelephone Chief

Striking workers of the Pelephone cellular telephone service and social activists plan to hold a demonstration, Monday morning at 7:00, opposite the home of Director-General Gil Sharon. The strike is scheduled to continue at storefront service centers in Hadera, Petach Tikva and Umm El-Fahm, as well as in the engineering and information technology departments, the logistics center and switchboards in Be’er Sheva and Jerusalem.

The workers are seeking job security and recognition of their organizing efforts with the Histadrut Labor Federation. On Sunday they demonstrated opposite service centers in Afula, Ashkelon, Be’er Sheva’, Hadera and Netanya. Social activists demonstrated opposite call centers in Jerusalem and Ramat Gan.
