New law limits call center waiting

A month ago, regulations restricting waiting times at call centers came into effect. The regulations were approved a year ago by the Knesset Economic Affairs Committee, following a bill by MK Eitan Cabel (Labor). The regulations state that if the waiting time is expected to last more than three minutes, the company must allow the customer to leave a message and it will call him or her back within three hours. If the customer chooses to stay on the line, the company must inform him of his place in the queue and the estimated waiting time, and allow him to leave a message during the call.

Golan Telecom gains 30,000 subscribers

Updated figures following the sales campaigns by Golan Telecom Ltd. and Hot Mobile Ltd.in December 2012 show that the two carriers greatly increased the number of their subscribers. On balance, Hot Mobile recruited more customers, but also lost more customers.

Yachimovich Congratulates Court on Pelephone Ruling

Labor Chairwoman Shelly Yachimovich congratulated the Labor Court for ruling in favor of Pelephone workers and allowing them to organize. Yachimovich wrote on her Facebook page, “This is an amazing decision by the Courthouse in regards to the organization of Pelephone employees – it prohibits employer interference in the process of association of workers . Bezeq workers committee joins Pelephone strike

Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) employees are joining the strike by employees at subsidiary Pelephone Communications Ltd., the Histadrut (General Federation of Labor in Israel) announced today. Striking workers of the Pelephone cellular telephone service and social activists plan to hold a demonstration, Monday morning at 7:00, opposite the home of Director-General Gil Sharon.
